Question #13

I’m buckling up and setting my sights on a goal. Because of that, I won’t have the time to devote writing posts for the blog during the month of June. But rather than just going silent, I’ve decided to try something different. I love hearing from you and thoroughly enjoy the interaction that happens in the comment section.

This month I’m going to ask YOU questions. I will weigh in with my own answers, but I’m mainly interested in just getting to know you. Some of the questions will be fun while others will hopefully take us deeper. After all… June is for questions.

QUESTION #13. What’s one movie that you would describe as a “must-see”?

Chariots of Fire. Based on true events, Academy Award Winner, and one my top 10 favorite films of all times. One of my favorite quotes from the film: “I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.”

What’s a must-see film in your book?

  • Jcollins

    Batman begins

I actually love the movie because of the poor example in it.

” It’s not who I am underneath, but what I *do* that defines me.”- Bruce Wayne

I love seeing how this belief plays out in The Dark Knight, as Bruce is at his lowest point-unsure of who he is and whether he is good or bad. Great confrontation with a lie that we are fed daily… We are not what we do, we do what we are.

    • Love that you watch films with such intentionality! Makes me want to rewatch “Batman Begins.” Thanks for dropping by and sharing your answer!

    • WOW. I’m super impressed with the intentionality you have when watching movies. Love that you are seeing the world through the filter of truth – even “Batman Begins.”

  • Val

Wow. Tough one! Seriously too many to pick from. But I would have to go with one of the undisputed best movies of all time, “Singin’ in the Rain.” Definitely.

    • I’m not sure D has seen it, this might make it onto the Christmas viewing list for 2012!

  • Mkenttravis

Ha! That’s my favorite quote from that movie too. However, I’m hesitant to name my must see film (as its rated R), but FORREST GUMP is one of them.

    • It’s an expansive piece of storytelling, to say the least! Great soundtrack too!
