Remembering

Succeptible to criticism: party for one.

Anyone with me?  I find myself meditating on negative thoughts more than I would like to admit.

You have got to lose this weight now.
No one reads this, why does it matter?
I am so alone.
You will never be published.
You aren’t contributing to your family.
You should be loving your neighbors more.
You’re a lousy friend.

And on and on.  I’m sure you have your own tape that you can pull out and play at a moment’s notice.  So today’s Thursday Tip has to do with combatting the negative.  Let’s turn from the inward and downward to the upward and outward.  Let’s declare with the Psalmist, “May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the Lord.”  Psalm 104:34

Remember from Ginger Ciminello on Vimeo.

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done.  Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.  Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.  Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, the judgments He pronounced.” Psalm 105:1-5

Remembering:
God brought me to a desert that has become my oasis.
I have a home with someone I love.
I have my own Bible and do not fear repurcussions for reading it.
I get to dream big every day.
We have food to put on the table.
I have wonderful relationships with my family and my in-laws.

And on, and on, and on… Add to the list.  What will you remember today?

Following and Remembering,
Ginger

“I have my own Bible and do not fear repurcussions for reading it.” The kids and I talk about this a ton! I’m not sure how much their understanding about that “simple” freedom but I hope they never take that for granted. People in some countries get put to death for reading or even uttering HIS name. Another thing “I remember” is that we are (for all points and purposes) safe. We live in a safe country where there is not a war on our turf. Us as women can walk around without special robes masking our face, have jobs, and vote. ….I mean, I don’t mean to be a “downer” but seriously, we are lucky: drinkable water coming straight to our HOUSE!, air conditioning, flush-able toilet, and of course excellent medical care. When I have a bad day, I like to think: my family is healthy, God has blessed me with 4 wonderful children and a loving husband, and HE has provided me with all I need….if not way more! :) -Kelly S.
