Women’s Groups
One Thing: “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42) Jesus loves Martha too much to let her continue believing that more preparation and work will save her soul. He cares far more about her character than her comfort. The truth is there is always, always work to be done. The to-do list never ends, but YOU are the only one who can see to the health of your soul. May we choose what is better. May we choose Him.
Set Free: Shame, guilt and fear dare to capture the freedom God has given us. What if we could escape the cage for good ? Galatians 5:1 says, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” This is the truth we will seek to discover and declare. It is time to be set free.
Abounding Hope: “May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him sot that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 Why does hope matter? “Hope is the confident expectation, the sure certainty that what God has promised in the Word Is true, has occurred, or will in accordance with God’s sure word.” (Bible.org) Hope is the entire heartbeat of the Bible.
Be Still: “Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10, AMP) God’s answer for our busy schedules, constant striving, and stress-induced insomnia is simple. Be. Just Be.
Great Expectations: When our expectations fail to met up with our current reality, the end result is often intense disappointment. So how should we, as women seeking after God, handle our everyday expectations? Do we simply set them lower? Psalm 62:4 (NKJV) points us in the right direction, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.” We sink lower and raise our eyes higher. In God we find the compass for our emotions and the strength for our days.
Bloom Where You are Planted: How to find our joy and bloom in the midst of life’s circumstances. “And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there.” 1 Corinthians 7:17, MSG
Cultivating Authentic Relationships: Making friends as an adult is tough. So what brings about vibrant friendships? And how can we prevent drama from entering those friendships once their established? The Bible is full of wisdom when it comes to this topic. In this session we will discover real and practical advice for cultivating authentic and lasting relationships. “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NLT)
