God is Good.

God is Good.

January 11, 2012 Posted by Ginger Ciminello Spiritual Growth

God is good, but the truth is that I don’t always believe it.  It’s not a conscious decision NOT to believe, but my affections, choices, and responses would point to the fact that I don’t believe that God is good.

Because if God is good, I don’t have to look anywhere else for satisfaction.

I readily declare that God is good, but I definitely live as if I need something more.  Sound familiar?

Most of my life I’ve struggled with over-eating.  I love food.  I really enjoy it.  Sometimes it’s just an added bonus to a rough day, but other times I look to it as a means to fix my problems and fill me up.  I’ve used entertainment, relationships, and even the pursuit of success in similar ways.  I keep seeking things rather than seeking Him.

I want to share a video with you today that spoke volumes to my heart.  I’m continuing to let the words and illustrations used to remind me that God is good… that He is my overwhelming and overflowing portion.  I hope Lauren’s story blesses you today.

“Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:25-26, NIV

God is good.

May the truth and the power of the gospel (that sponge of truth!) strengthen you today and every day.

Listening and following,
Ginger
